Fora Football Inc. (“Fora,” “we,” or “us”) operates a professional football platform for players, clubs, and agents. This Privacy Policy explains the personal information we collect, why we use it, whom we disclose it to, and your choices. It covers both accounts and professional player profiles created from data-provider and public sources, including profiles that have not been claimed. For questions or requests, contact privacy@fora.football.
Our Terms of Use also govern use of the Services. This policy is a notice about our practices; it does not by itself ask you to consent to every use described here. You can print or save this page using your browser’s print command.
Information we collect
The information we collect depends on your role and how you use Fora. Over the preceding 12 months, these categories may include:
| Category | Examples and source |
|---|---|
| Account and contact details | Name, email address, role, affiliation, phone number if provided, login identifiers, and verification details that you or our authentication provider supply. |
| Professional football information | Club and league history, position, nationality, appearances, statistics, agent relationship, contract information, injury or availability information, and other career facts supplied by you, clubs, data providers, or public sources. |
| Compensation information | Salary observations entered by players, private contract values entered by clubs, and related confidence or source information. |
| Content and communications | Posts, comments, messages (including voice messages), reports, notes, documents, profile photos, feedback, and requests that you choose to send or upload. |
| Technical and usage information | IP address, approximate location inferred from IP, browser and device details, security events, pages and features used, referring pages, and analytics identifiers collected through our systems and service providers. |
We may create a professional player profile using licensed sports-data feeds and publicly available information before the player creates an account. Claiming a profile requires identity verification. If a profile describes you, contact privacy@fora.football to request review, correction, or deletion. Information from independent public or provider sources may continue to exist outside Fora.
How we use information
- Provide and maintain the Services: authenticate users; create accounts and profiles; display football facts; enable search, comparisons, messaging and video calls, social feeds, scouting, club planning, and notifications; and respond to requests.
- Protect the Services and people using them: verify identities, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, investigate incidents, and keep records needed for security or legal compliance.
- Improve and explain the Services: understand product usage, debug issues, develop features, measure reliability, and communicate service changes. We may send marketing messages where permitted, with an unsubscribe option.
- Produce group insights: use salary information to create shared benchmarks only when a group contains at least six distinct players. Individual player salaries are private to the player. Club-entered contract values remain private to the club and do not enter shared salary benchmarks.
We do not currently sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not currently offer paid subscriptions or SMS messaging through the Services. We do not record or transcribe video calls or voice messages; for a call we keep only who took part, when, and for how long. If our practices change materially, we will update this policy and provide any notice or choice required by law.
Where information comes from
We receive information from you, the organization you represent, your interactions with the Services, sports-data providers, public football sources, other users who communicate with you or submit information about you, and service providers that support authentication, security, analytics, and delivery. If you choose a third-party sign-in method, the identity provider may supply the details you authorize; Fora does not ask for that provider’s password.
Who receives information
We disclose information only as needed for the purposes described above. Recipients may include:
- Service providers working on our behalf, including hosting and database providers, Clerk for authentication, Stream for chat, video calls, and feeds, Novu for notifications, PostHog and Google Analytics for analytics, and providers for email, security, search, storage, and observability. Their access is limited to their role in providing the Services.
- Other users or organizations according to a feature’s audience and permissions: for example, a public profile, a post, a message recipient, an authorized agent, or a club viewer. A private player salary is not shared with other users; club-entered contract values are visible only within authorized club workflows.
- Authorities, advisers, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, enforce agreements, or complete a merger, financing, acquisition, or other business transaction.
If you share information outside Fora, the recipient’s later use may be governed by its own practices. We may use genuinely de-identified or aggregated information for lawful analytics and product improvement, and we do not attempt to reidentify it.
Cookies and analytics
Clerk and Fora use cookies or similar technologies for sign-in, security, and preferences. Google Analytics and PostHog help us understand site visits and feature usage. These analytics services may collect device and usage information and set identifiers or cookies. We do not currently serve targeted ads through the Services. Your browser may let you block or delete cookies, but blocking essential cookies can prevent sign-in or other features. We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
For information about analytics or cookies, including available choices, email privacy@fora.football. You can also use browser settings to manage cookies.
Security and retention
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information according to its sensitivity and use. No internet service can guarantee complete security. You should protect your sign-in methods and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized account access.
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain accurate professional records, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the Services. Retention varies by category and purpose. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, unless a lawful reason requires retention. Account closure does not necessarily remove independent public or licensed professional football facts from an unclaimed profile.
Your choices and rights
You may be able to edit certain account and profile information in the Services. You can contact privacy@fora.football to ask for access, correction, deletion, a copy of your information, or information about how we use it. Depending on where you live and which law applies, you may also be able to object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, opt out of certain uses, or appeal a decision. We will verify a request where needed, respond within the applicable legal period, and explain any lawful exception. You may contact your local privacy regulator if you believe your rights have been violated.
California residents may have additional rights under California law where it applies to Fora, including rights to know, correct, and delete personal information and to opt out of sale or sharing. Fora does not currently sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Nevada residents may submit a request under Nevada law to privacy@fora.football; we do not currently sell personal information as defined by that law.
European Economic Area, UK, and Swiss information
For people in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Fora Football Inc. is generally the controller of information it uses to operate the Services. A club or agency may independently control information it chooses to submit or share. Contact us at privacy@fora.football about Fora’s own processing.
Lawful bases
We use account, contact, and technical information needed to provide requested services on the basis of contractual necessity. We use information for security, product improvement, professional player profiles, and relevant communications where we have a legitimate interest that is not overridden by your rights. We rely on consent when we ask for it and on legal obligations where applicable. We assess information concerning health, such as injury status, separately under the additional rules for special-category data and limit its use to an applicable condition.
International transfers
We and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where a transfer from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland needs a legal safeguard, we use an applicable transfer mechanism, such as standard contractual clauses and any required UK addendum or equivalent safeguards. Contact privacy@fora.football for information about relevant safeguards.
Additional rights
Where EU, UK, or Swiss law applies, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, receive portable data, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. You may complain to your local supervisory authority. We may request enough information to verify your identity and may limit a request where law permits.
Children
The Services are intended for people aged 16 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided information to us, contact privacy@fora.football so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when our Services or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy and effective date here and give additional notice where required.
